The initial shots were formerly for the opening of the trailer, to provided a spooky atmosphere for the beginning. This was before we had decided to use intercutting shots of the killer (Jon) talking. From here, we eventually extended and expanded into chase scenes and so on.
For our initial shots we decided to use the newer cameras to our advantage to create different shots that we could possibly use in our trailer. For some of the shots we have used a push pull focus to create an effect of the focus being switched from each character.
To create suspense for the victim we had the camera focused on Joe and attempted to switch the focus to the killer making an intense scene.
By testing the camera in this initial shot practice it has meant we could use these effects within our actual trailer.
